About the event
Learn the art of centering clay on the pottery wheel in a unique experience inspired by ancient Maya tradition, at Lake Atitlán.
During a focused and inspiring 1–1:15 hour group session, a local Maya artist will guide you through the essential process of working on the pottery wheel, teaching you how to center clay the foundation of all ceramic creation.
This experience is perfect for beginners, adults, couples, friends, and young creators ages 4 and up who wish to connect with clay, culture, and craftsmanship in a meaningful way.
Classes are offered daily in our cozy lakeside studio.
Your ceramic piece will be fired and ready to take home after two weeks.
For travelers with limited time, we offer a symbolic ceramic piece crafted by our local Maya artists a meaningful keepsake inspired by the experience.

One-time Pottery class
A guided pottery wheel session lasting 1–1.5 hours, led by a local artist in a relaxed setting with views of Lake Atitlán. You will learn basic wheel-throwing techniques and create your own handmade piece to take home as a unique souvenir. Suitable for beginners, adults, and children.
