About the event
Paint, connect, and take home a piece of Maya culture.
In this ceramic painting experience, you will paint a pre-fired ceramic piece made in our studio with local Guatemalan clay and take it home the same day.
Guided by a local Maya artist, you’ll use natural oxides and pigments traditionally used in the region. If you wish, the artist will share the meaning of Maya symbols, stories from the Maya calendar, and even help you write names or birthdays in Maya glyphs for a deeply personal piece.
You can also paint freely, enjoying the process while learning about ancestral colors and their cultural significance.
Perfect for beginners, couples, families, and children, this experience offers a meaningful and creative connection to Maya art, history, and identity.
